GoPlay! was developed by Lori, the COO of the Calgary Sport and Social Club, in 2024. While taking a break from adult sports to have and raise her two active kiddos, she recognized that there was a need for more organized, recreational sport options in our city. Lori believes strongly in preparing our kiddos for life while still letting kids be kids, and that means learning life skills through active play, in a fun and organized way.
The goal of GoPlay! is to give every kiddo in our city the chance to play while learning important life skills along the way. Our group of part-time GoPlay! Coaches and full-time office staff are all passionate people and they know how important an active lifestyle and social connections are for our kiddos. With a variety of programs and social events, GoPlay! truly offers something for every kiddo in our city. Care to join us?
We work hard to establish a positive culture that sees our staff, both full-time and part-time, develop their skills and become leaders in the community. To run GoPlay! for so many kiddos in our city, it "takes a village." We want that village to be treated with respect and compensated fairly for all that they do.
Sometimes stuff happens. We don't want you to have to worry about it. GoPlay! provides generous benefits to full-time staff members including comprehensive health benefits, health care spending accounts, and personal health days.
There's more to life than collecting a pay stub. We work to live, and believe our staff should have the opportunity to live life! GoPlay! provides generous vacation time for all full-time staff, birthdays off, as well as quarterly Flex Fridays for some extra rest n’ relaxation.
We believe that we provide a service which enhances the local community. But we’re not alone, and we want our staff to help make Calgary a better place. That's why we reserve one spot in each session for a kiddo who may not otherwise have the means to join, and it's why we provide GoPlay! full-time staff with paid volunteer days throughout the year.

Our Coaches are the backbone of GoPlay!, and they make a huge impact on our kiddos' experience every single week. The team is dedicated, passionate, skilled, and fun! Because every child deserves to play while developing a few new skills and meeting their new BFFs along the way. Becoming a coach means joining a crew of driven people in Calgary, who are all looking to make a difference.
