GoPlay! was developed by Lori, the COO of the Calgary Sport and Social Club. While taking a break from adult sports to have and raise her two active kiddos, she recognized that there was a need for more organized, recreational sport options in our city. Lori believes strongly in preparing our kiddos for life while still letting kids be kids, and that means learning life skills through active play, in a fun and organized way.
Our mission is to ensure that every kid has the chance to get involved with and benefit from organized sports in a fun, inclusive, and recreational environment.
Our vision is to help kids in our cities learn the skills of sport and be active – but also learn teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, independence, and to gain self-confidence along the way. We believe that kids are far more capable than what they are often given credit for, and GoPlay! is their new outlet to learn these important life skills in a wholesome and organic way.
Our group-based programs are tailored to local communities in both Calgary and Edmonton. In the future, we plan to expand GoPlay! to reach those 8 to 17 before heading into our adult leagues at the Sport and Social Club, giving people in our cities a place to play for life.
GoPlay! is powered by the superstar team at the Calgary Sport and Social Club (CSSC). With decades of experience organizing sport leagues throughout the city, our team is eager to grow the SSC portfolio to include all things GoPlay! We are expanding to add GoPlay! specialists to the team as the program develops, so check back here in a few months to meet your Head Coaches and Program Coordinators.
